Do you fight with comrades in Gears of War 2?

I was wondering if, during story mode, do you fight with comrades or do you go about the game killing by yourself? I was thinking about buying the game and like games where you fight with a team of people. I don't mean playing with someone else, i mean bots in the game. Kind of like call of duty.
