Does anyone remember a Disney Channel movie...?

It may have been from the early 80s or 70s, but it was about a boy who worked as a printing press apprentice (in the middle ages), and hated his life until he met another boy who had magic powers, and could wish them both into a magical field or meadow. The magic boy held a rose, and the movie ended with the villagers burning the boy at the stake. That's all I remember, does it ring any bells?
