Ok i think he's shy..and i need to know if he likes me so i can ask him to the dance!!?

Okay there is a New years bash around the corner and girls have to ask the guys. So i know this guy and last year i used to have one cl with him and we used to tlak alot but now were freshman in highschool.we have no cles together but i see him at lunch and after schoolI started liking him on the first day of school and so i became awkwardly scared to talk to him as if i didnt know him. But we actually started to talk to me again at the dance and we slow danced i told him to look for me when a slow dance came on cuz i waz outside and he came looking for me when a song came on. but ever since the dance he would say hi to me but one day he said hey to me and my friends burst of laughing cuz they thouhg t it was cuteso that kinda shocked him now we barely talk now i see him at his foot ball games and everytime i decide to go his team wins and hes makes alot of touchdowns and when im not there they lose. ?But now wehn i talk to him he barely looks at me but he stares at me CONFUSED!
