Some good tips on getting a job?

I'm seventeen years old. I've worked before, and I've been job hunting in Fultondale, AL. I've put in my application in a lot of places: Maurices, Rue 21, O'Charley's, Outback, Chili's, Claire's, etc. but I feel like in order to get a job I need something that stands out. It seems a bit competitive for teens to find good jobs and I DON'T want to end up in fast food again. I would very much appreciate some ideas to better help me get hired QUICKLY.
