Who is Malcolm X? Why do so many people have a different opinion on this guy?

He was a black rights activist, but many thought he was radical. He preached that even violence was ok if it meant achieving his goal. Instead of getting what he wanted by civil, peaceful means, he took it to a new level, a level of pain.
