Ted Williams homeless man with a golden voice? Old home?

Am I the only who's a little disappointed that the homeless guy actually had professional voice training and worked in radio before becoming homeless. Wouldn't it be a lot cooler and interesting if he was just a regular bum who developed the voice on his own?
