We broke and my husband left me, what should I do?

I married very early, and I made a mistake of choosing my husband because he was a handsome man, and a good sportsman. Otherwise he was a weak, empty-headed, untaught creature. With this thing called a husband I lived eight years. My father gave me a sufficient sum of money, and his father was very well off, he had a brewing business, after which he looked very carefully. My husband never troubled to learn the business, he just appeared there now and then, and spent his time amusing himself. Then my father died, then his. My husband felt that it was beneath him to look after his business, he just collected cash to spend from the accountant. He was in debt very soon, and I was glad when we sold the business, and even got a nice sum of money for it. I told him to buy a house and some land with it; but fools don't like to be guided. We rented a place in the countryside, and he lived as before, doing nothing but hunting and drinking.
